What do we do?

At Back to Health, we primarily treat people with aches, pains and injuries. Our aim is to help relieve you of these ailments, but also  in many cases help you work towards a goal. For example you may want to go to the gym more, be more active in general, join a sports club, run a marathon. Or you may have long standing back pain that affects your quality of life, or picked up and injury on the rugby pitch for example. Whichever way we are here to help you!

Some of the things we treat include:

  • Low back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Shoulder pain
  • Headaches
  • Elbow pain
  • Jaw pain
  • Knee pain
  • Hip pain
  • Arthritic pain
  • Post training soreness
  • (Sports) injuries
This list is not exhaustive. In general if it hurts, we can probably help!

How do we do it?

We currently offer osteopathic treatment and sports massage to help you with your aches and pains. Typically these treatments will involve soft tissue work (massage), joint mobilisation and manipulation, rehabilitative exercises as well as lifestyle advice and home care. The latest evidence for the treatment of musculoskeletal (bone, muscle and joint) complaints are most effectively treated with a multi-modal approach, which includes the above and in some cases medicinal pain relief.

What to expect?

On your first visit to the clinic, we will ask you to fill out a short form to find out your personal details, a little bit about what you do and your general health/past medical history. This is to help us understand why you may be experiencing pain and, as a duty of care make sure that it is suitable for us to treat you.
Once in the treatment room, you will be asked a few questions about your current problem and what you hope to get out of your time with us. We will also conduction an examination to allow us to best understand why you are experiencing pain. For this you may be asked to remove some clothes. We have examination gowns available on request, but it is probably easiest  and most comfortable for you to bring a pair of shorts and a vest (or well fitted bra ladies!) to change into.
